Six Instructions

Vibraphone Solo

It’s always nice to play your own music. You know what you mean, you can change notes many times, play it faster, slower. It feels a lot like a blank canvas where you just do what you want where there’s a lot of room for trying stuff – because you don’t have someone else complaining for changing it too many times! This piece had around ten versions in the span of three years, and I have finally decided settle down on a definitive one and play it in my first CLUTCH (UT composer collective) concert.

I like to think the these instructions as accompaniments for the actions of the titles, they might as well be derived from them, or they could be inspirational to the do the actions. In any case, they are meant to be imaginative for both audience and performer.

Yeah, that’s me in the vibes, My chops are back!
